About

I am a psychotherapist who has worked extensively with traumatized people of all ages: kids in the juvenile justice system, kids in residential homes, kids in foster care; folks with addictions, chronic pain, homelessness, dual diagnosis, severe mental illness, incarcerated. I have also worked with wealthy people and people in the movie industry  so I was fortunate to see how the same problems impact a wide spectrum of us humans. My last professional position was developing and managing forensic programs for mentally ill offenders, including an assessment program within Superior Court. I was never treated more appreciatively than in the local jails, by local law enforcement,* or by the judges. And I truly fell in love with my families and clients; many had such difficult roads to travel and most were so warm and responsive towards my humble efforts to help them effect positive changes. I am so grateful for the privilege of having earned their trust during those years.

But now I am working on other issues, with other beings. I am a fallible abolitionist vegan, a novice blogger, a writer, an activist, a podcaster, a percussionist, a photographer, a human animal.  All of my life I have appreciated nature and animals and found solace there; all of my life I have been horrified at the treatment of animals by fellow humans.  Now I know much more than I did as a child and I have made the commitment to share what I have learned with other people.  For the earth, for the climate, for the animals, for our health, for the future, for peace : it all comes down to living a non-violent vegan lifestyle.  Please join us!

Thanks for checking out Veganacious.

*Public Defender’s Office, District Attorney’s Office, Probation were all wonderful team partners. Within Juvenile Justice, the in-house staff are still my heroes. You guys are the bomb!
