Most of the uses of animals for the benefit of mankind harm the animals. I agree that jumping horses hurts their legs, but that will be a post for another day. However, I fail to see how horses in traffic with automobiles is safe or fair for the animals. If you have further information, I would be happy to read it. What happens to the horses when they "retire?" Your horses may be allowed to retire but I doubt all the owners are the same. PLEASE get your so called facts straight before believing a highly edited, misleadly video made by a man who originally wanted to do a piece pro-carriage, but since he was turned away, he tried to retaliate. FACTS...this is full of clips and pics from OTHER cities, it is full of half truths, outright lies, and totally misleading info. It also uses the power of suggestion A LOT. Not one NYC carriage horse was shown at that auction, yet he makes it seem so! I hold the truth in my hands. I own a 108 acre fam for my horses where many nyc horses vacation. I built a state of the art stable, that was deemed of olympic standard! How can you say we are abusive? The "problems" you say our horses suffer are just not so. Where is your proof of this?
