Thanks Amelia. It helps to know how other folks are dealing with these issues. Sounds like you have it worked out quite well!

Thanks for the message. I will definitely follow you on Twitter. I really enjoyed your post and very much relate to it. I have two grandchildren, a two year old and a three year old. We are macrobiotic and my daughter is too. Most people involved in macrobiotics are vegan and I certainly am. My daughter does her best but occasionally has problems getting her kids to eat. I often provide her with recipes and cook vegan meals for her. I also keep her supplied with MacroTreats and MacroBars. I come from a baking family and feel that the least I can do is provide products and post recipes that are vegan. We have many animals here and you are so right. It is an ongoing struggle. It seems that compassion is in such short supply. Amelia

Thanks Gloria. I wish you well with your grandparents and parents. Hopefully veganism will not be divisive one day, and people will be amazed that people could have ever been so cruel as to do what they are doing today. Thanks for caring about the animals.

Your story is very touching. Perhaps you could bake him a vegan cake or something along those lines and he'll see that it's better than the one he had :) There are many vegans out there feeling the same way, in my case I am the granddaughter who deals with grandparents and parents who don't understand so I think you are very enlightened!
